Lets Go Pick Some Raspberries

Last Saturday we ventured out to go pick some raspberries to make jam with. It was a fun time and the kids enjoyed it. We got a lot of berries and a lot of juice (Ella stepped on her bag a few times). We got just over 3 1/2 lbs for $8.00. That was a better deal then Costco. But if you think about the gas prices and then the time it took to pick 3 1/2lbs of berries, it ends up being a better price to just get them at Costco. It was a great time for all and it was fun to do ONCE with the family.

Ready to start picking

Lesson Learned...???

Today Ella was experimenting with frozen water and metal. She decided to freeze a spoon and then lick it. Well... when it stuck to her tongue, instead of warming up the spoon with water, she decided to riiiippp it off. She came up to me upset and showed me her tongue. I thought that she hurt it with a sharp piece of ice. The she told me that she put her tongue on the spoon and it would not come off so she pulled it off. That’s what happens when you stick your tongue on something frozen! I hope she learned her lesson.

Ella's First Day of Kindergarten

Ella's First Day

Doing the Hokey Pokey
getting warmed of for school

Ella and Hali

Ella and Gunner
Ella has been anxiously awaiting her turn to go to school. All week she has been telling me that home is boring and that school is FUN. We have been counting how many wake-ups it will be till she starts school. I have to say that I was not too sad to send her after every day this past week of her telling me that she would rather be at school then at home. She is growing up so fast.
I have to say that I am so excited for her to go and be in the same class as some of her friends.
I went to pick her up after school and she could not stop talking about school and about how she had to do her homework and turn it in the next day. She is also happy that she gets to meet her brother after school so that they can all carpool together with two other girls that ride home with us.
Over all today was a great day!
I love my kids

Another tooth lost...

Ella's tooth has been hanging on by a thread this past week and Steven has tried a few times to pull it out with no avail until today at church. Daddy took her into the bathroom after she had given her talk in primary. They both came out a few minutes later with the tooth in hand. She was happy that the Tooth Fairy was going to come and give her a $1.00.
She woke up and showed me what she had gotten and then started to count her money and talking with Matthew about how much she has and what they both thought she should get with it. I love to hear them both in a deep discussion talking about REALLY important things. It was cute.

Matthew's First Day of School

Matthew had his first day of school today. He has really grown up this past year and I am so excited for him to be in 2nd grade. We met his teacher at the open house last week and she seems very nice and really on top of things. When I was walking Matthew up the sidewalk I told him that I was going to take his picture in front of the school and he was not interested in any pictures. I told him that I do this every year and he still did not want me to take his picture. Luckily for me the schools theme for the day was BAND OF BROTHERS and they had some soldiers standing outside cheering the kids on and telling them to have a great day at school. They also had a military hummer on the sidewalk and one of the soldiers said that Matthew could sit in it. I think that is the only reason I was able to get this picture. I love you Matthew

BRIAN REGAN

During our family reunion my brother-in-law got us hooked on watching the comedian Brian Regan on YouTube. We hooked up the laptop to the TV and we sat around rolling on the floor laughing. I did not know that Steven could laugh so hard. It was sometime more funny to laugh at him, laughing at Brian Regan.

A few days later my sister got on the internet to see what we could do with the kids and came across a website that said that the comedian that we had been watching for days was coming to town. I thought that I would get the tickets and surprise my HON, but the tickets were a little spendy and thought I should talk to him about it first. Later that night I remembered and ask him if he would like to go, he said that we should so I went to the computer to buy them and it was SOLD OUT!! We got on line and checked all kinds of websites and with no luck. I told Steven that I would put the kids to bed if he would keep checking. A little while later he said that he managed to find the tickets. I asked him how he did it and he said that someone was selling them on ebay and showed a picture of the tickets and that gave him the idea to go the the same website that that person had used and it worked. Good job hon.
We had a great time and laughed a lot, I think we will do it again.
